After writing adventures for the Great Forest, the author's son challenged her to write something new. Out popped a rhyming story of 100 Monkeys.
After much work and use of the thesaurus, it was given to an excellent illustrator.
The Story
A young child builds a play hut that Boss Monkey immediately claims for a monkey slide.
Harassed by monkeys in groups of ten, the child's words are intentionally misunderstood -
so more monkeys keep coming.
A surprise ending turns the monkeys from annoyances
into heroes proving that good can be found in eeryone.

The Story
It begins in the jungle of an Ancient Time,
When birds make music, and children
When monkeys swing through the canopies,
While children build play huts
One morning, a cockatoo waves it long,
tail feather
At her friends the parrots as
they play together.
In a nearby tree, the Boss Monkey’s eyes
Watch over the jungle - who slithers,
who flies.
...

How many monkeys will slide down the child's play hut?
(To count, enlarge the picture. Put an 'X' on ten monkeys.
Then put a circle on ten monkeys. Etc.)

The child is in big trouble! The monkeys are a mess. Will they be able to save her?
